Footprints

Palm thatched huts
uneven footprints
etched in the sandy
paths of decadence
at VAROD in Vavuniya.

What do I do?
Walk along?
Go the other way?
Stamp my footprint greedily,on top?

Or...

Do I wipe it off?
Erase it from my memory
let it go
just like they were let go of
after the bloody war.
